Shoetique in Hale has once again been shortlisted for an award at the Drapers Footwear Awards, the UK’s top Footwear Awards in the fashion retail industry. Shoetique were proud to win the highly coveted Independent Footwear Retailer award in 2015 and beat strong competition in the process. Other winners at the awards included Schuh, River Island and Skechers to name but a few.
This year Shoetique have been nominated once again, based on their strong online business, their focus on customer service and also being one of the top Footwear Retailers in the UK on Trustpilot (the Independent Customer Review site). This is based on over 14,000 independent and verified customer reviews. Shoetique offers many of the leading footwear brands both in store and online. The Drapers Footwear Awards ceremony will be held on Park Lane on June 30th.
With its Head Office and internet operation based in Altrincham and a store in Hale Village, Shoetique is owned by husband and wife team Kate and Stuart Conroy. Shoetique has a strong history in the area, being one of the longest serving retail businesses in Hale and also with it's origins from Altrincham Market back in the 1980s.
Kate Conroy said, “It is such a lovely surprise to be nominated for an award this year, as we won the Independent Footwear Retailer award last year. We are absolutely delighted and it shows how our focus on putting the customer first and aiming to always offer exceptional customer service really works. To win last year and be nominated again for such a coveted award makes me very proud of the Shoetique team and all that we have achieved and continue to strive for - wish us luck for the awards ceremony!”

2500 Twitter Followers
We have made it to 2500 Twitter Followers! To share our duck delight, we thought we would give you some top tips for increasing your follower numbers.
Here’s our handful of tips to get more Twitter followers:
1: Try and tweet every day that includes weekends, bank holidays. You will even see the Altrincham Duck team tweeting on Christmas Day.
2: As a local business, show you care for your community and help promote the area. It’s important to not be overly promotional and only tweet for self-gain. The Altrincham duck is not a single individual, it’s made of a team of likeminded people who genuinely care for the area they live and work, there are no ego trips here.
3: Make an effort to acknowledge and say hello to ALL your new followers (with the exception of any spam accounts of course). The Altrincham Duck team also likes to check out the profile of any new followers to know a bit more about them.
4: Remember this is social media and the more you acknowledge others through retweets (RTs), likes and mentions, the more likely you are to gain new followers. The Altrincham Duck team is always happy to RT others - we certainly do not operate any bias or have a “preferred list” of accounts that we only engage with. Yes, this does happen!
5: Bring your personality through on Twitter. People like to know they are following a real person behind the business, or duck! We have a cute sense of humour here in the Altrincham Duck team, we try and make sure our daily jokes are fresh, funny and make our audience smile.
6: Use hashtags to be involved in discussions around a particular theme. The Altrincham Duck team follows the #altrincham hashtag, and we tweet or RT what we find there, often with a bit of banter.
7: Yes, social media is a vital communications channel for your business. Hidden amongst those followers may be your next customer or big order. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have fun while tweeting. Remember that the people you are engaging with are human (or ducks!) and will appreciate following someone who is passionate and genuine.
The Altrincham Duck team tweets for fun, not for money, and that’s because our ethos is to care and share.
8. If you hand over your Twitter account for an expert to manage, no doubt they will promise a high number of followers. That’s great but is the audience the right one for your business? Will they interact with everyone in the local community or just those in select networks? The key to the Altrincham Duck team’s success is that we give everyone a chance to interact with us.
Did you know – you can also list your business for FREE, yes free, in our popular local business directory. There is no charge, no strings – it’s a simple free listing, which you can do by CONTACTING US
