Farina’s Italian Cafe and Restaurant.

Farina’s Italian Cafe and Restaurant.
We’ve left the office hoping to grab some bread and cold meats at Tesco’s supermarket for our lunch. How surprised were we when we saw a nice little new restaurant on the way there!!
Located at 4A Moss Lane Altrincham , you can access the restaurant through their main door. You can’t see their menu just yet online, as their website address takes you directly to their Facebook page, but I don’t doubt it will be up soon
Hans Farina, the previous owner of some of Cheshire's most successful restaurants, has come back to Altrincham where he began his culinary career. After a short chat with his son, Joe Farina, we found that Hans had renovated the new restaurant pretty much all by himself!! Very impressive if you ask us!
We hadn’t booked a table or anything, we just walked in, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that they had just opened that day for the first time!! We were the first customers!!
The welcome we received was very warm. As we sat down, the waitress immediately gave us the drinks menu and waited for a second while we decided what to have. I opted for a Birra Moretti, small bottle of Italian beer, while the husband and our friend decided to share a half carafe of house red wine. Been a Thursday, therefore a work day for us, we decided not to drink too much so we could function at work for the rest of the afternoon!!
The menu is very extensive, so it took us a good few minutes to peruse it in depth; only to realise that the waitress had given us the dinner menu so we could also have a look at it for future reference. The lunch menu on the other hand is small and compact, making it very easy to choose, and also great for a quick bite to eat when you’re at work.
Our friend and I opted for the Pollo Milanese, whilst the husband chose the Stuffato Di Salciccia.
My main course the Pollo Milanese, a thinly cut chicken breast, bread crumbed and pan fried accompanied by a generous helping of linguini in Han’s own tomato sauce, was absolutely delicious. The portion size was generous and perfect for lunch.
The husbands Stuffato Di Salciccia, was also a very good sized portion, Italian sausage, beans and potatoes, a great bowl of warm and hearty stew; looked absolutely fantastic, not too heavy, and again, perfect size for lunch.
As an accompaniment for the 3 meals we chose the Zucchini Fritti, bread crumbed fried courgettes, which were perfect. We also received from the kitchen a little mixed salad, which was a pleasant little surprise!
We were stuffed so we decided not to have a dessert this time round. But we look forward to visiting again very soon!!
