RIDDLES HALLOWEEN EVENT -5 REASONS NOT TO MISS
This Halloween, Riddles are delivering up something special – join us on the 31st October 2015 for something completely different… read on to find out why you definitely do NOT want to miss this!
THE THEME
We’re thinking outside the box with our theme – no vampire coffins or witches broomsticks here! – instead we’ve decided to theme our party around the festival El Dia de los Muertos – or to anyone that isn’t clued up on their Spanish, ‘The Day of the Dead’. Based on a traditional Mexican festival, the more eagle-eyed among you may have even spotted James Bond himself at the festival in the new trailer for ‘Spectre’. The festival uses lots of colour, skulls, and marigold flowers, so expect plenty of that in the bar on the night.
A FREE DRINK FOR THOSE IN FANCY DRESS!
We’ll all be dressing up behind the bar to fit the El Dia de los Muertos theme (think sugar skulls, top hats and brightly coloured flowers). So we’d also love to see you guys getting into the spirit (no pun intended, honest) – whether you go with the sugar skulls or a more traditional style Halloween get-up is up to you. As even more of an incentive to come along dressed up we’ve decided to give anyone that does so a free drink. But it’s not just any old free drink. In fact, we’re making our very own alcoholic ‘Voodoo Riddles Potion’.
The recipe is top secret but it’ll certainly pack a punch for you fancy dressers.
THE PLAYLIST
Our staff have put together a fantastic spooky themed playlist ranging from the 1920s up to the modern day. We wanted to make sure we threw in a decent amount of 1920s tunes in keeping with our Speakeasy style, so we’ve included some moody blues and swing as well as a few jazz numbers. Expect the likes of Blind Willie Johnson, as well classic horror film scores such as the infamous The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari released in 1920. We’ve thrown in a few modern ones too for good measure, we just couldn’t do a Halloween playlist without included the Monster Mash now could we?
OUR HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL INVENTIONS
We love to experiment with our drinks at Riddles and what better night to do so than for Halloween? Expect some weird and wonderful inventions – though we don’t want to give too much away, so you’ll just have to come and see what’s on our Specials Board on the night.
IT’S FREE!
Yes, that’s right, it’s completely free to get into the bar – no silly door fees. So there’s really no reason not to pop along and see what’s going on. We look forward to seeing you all for a spooky fun filled night!
