The decor inside was lovely with parquet flooring and exposed brick walls. It had a comforting intimate feel about it and the atmosphere was great. There is an open kitchen at the back and the chefs were immaculately turned out in their whites looking cool as cucumbers with all the orders flying - we were seated by a very pleasant waiter and handed the menus, he fully explained the specials and was quick with our drinks order.
To my surprise there was an early bird menu from Monday to Wednesday all day. It was £15 for a two course meal which is fantastic value (Please check with Earle as this offer may have changed). I decided to order from the early bird menu and Mrs Ninja decided to go all in with the A La Carte menu.
For starters I went for the smoked haddock kedgeree and Mrs Ninja ordered the Soup of the day with artisan bread. After 10 minutes the starters arrived and I can't describe the taste sensation of the Kedgeree.. it was on another level, nicely presented with the haddock perfectly cooked.
Unfortunately there are no pictures of this as I'm not that annoying a person in a restaurant who starts dazzling everyone with a camera flash but I can't do this dish justice with words alone.
The soup according to the wife was delicious and the fresh flavours were obvious.
For mains I ordered the chuck steak and marrow burger with hand cut truffle salted chips. I'm actually salivating while writing this as <i> it was the best tasting burger I have ever had<i> and cooked perfectly to my liking. The chips were served in a mini frying basket and tasted delicious. Mrs Duck ordered the Sea Bass fillet which came with steamed new potatoes, mixed vegetables and a nicoise salad, again without sounding like I'm repeating myself, it was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic - two empty plates were taken from the tables and we thought it would be rude not to request a dessert.. all I'm going to say is that they made a fantastic night perfect.
The bill was ordered and I genuinely wondered why we hadn't been here before, I genuinely doubt you'll ever find a local restaurant who can rival the quality that is Earle! Go book a table and find out for yourselves.
