Teacher Cooperative
The Teacher Cooperative Tutor Centre is a new tuition service based in Timperley village located above Sainsbury's. We are a small team of experienced full-time teachers working in state primary and secondary schools, specialising in English and Maths .
Changes to the National Curriculum (2014 and 2015) have placed greater emphasis on English and Maths. The biggest challenge to schools will be the increase in content and a greater emphasis on problem solving.
The tutor centre is our response to these changes. Outside of school we are making available to all local children a set of well proven study programmes that will help prepare them for the new curriculum. The programmes promote deeper connected learning enabling students to make sense of the work before the traditional practice and drill.
Initially, we are using the tutor centre for Maths groups only (max. 6 students min.3 students per class) to cater for the expected high demand at both primary and secondary level. Group lessons are booked in blocks of six. For more details please open the Study Programmes page. English and Maths teachers are also available to book for individual home tuition.
If your child is between Yr5 and Yr11 and you are considering tuition please use the enquiry form or email to register interest and a teacher will call you back to discuss appropriate learning trajectories available for your individual child. Parental involvement is recognised as a key factor in children's progress and parents are very welcome to stay and observe their child's group lessons. A cooperative belongs to the people who use it, teachers and parents working together in the local community.
