Born on a warm summer’s evening in Campania, Southern Italy, and taking inspiration from the region’s speciality roast chicken and staple street food, Pizza Neopolitana, the Tre Ciccio concept was born.
Meaning ‘three chubby friends’, Tre Ciccio is the product of a passion shared between chef Francesco Scafuri and two friends from the industry. Having met and worked together previously, the trio are determined to bring the passion, flavours and vibrancy of an Italian trattoria to Altrincham town centre. Inspired by the family-run village restaurant Francesco came across on his visit home to Italy, Tre Ciccio encapsulates the warmth and authenticity of a small Italian kitchen whilst sitting comfortably in the cosmopolitan offering of the town’s thriving food scene.
It is perhaps no surprise that ‘Ciccio’ is also a nickname for Francesco when you discover Scafuri is supported by his namesake, Francesco Dore, as general manager of the restaurant. Running the show on day-to-day basis, the pair will be responsible for delivering the lovingly curated menu to their customers. Amongst a list of delicious and classic dishes, the restaurant boasts of their unique offering of roast chicken and potatoes sitting alongside wood-fired pizza as their hero dishes. Choose the pizza and you’ll enjoy a light digestible crust baked in their specialist oven topped with their special pizza sauce and a variety of classic and gourmet toppings. The local award-winning farm-reared chicken of their ‘Pollo Arrosto e Patate’ comes from Johnson & Swarbrick in Goosnargh and is coated in their own secret marinade and slow-roasted before being traditionally served on a platter perfect to share with your Valentine’s beau.
Opening its doors on Wednesday 14th February 2018, Tre Ciccio is already taking bookings and the owners are excited to welcome customers into the restaurant after months of renovations. Housing a warm upstairs seating area, with 50 covers downstairs and an outside terrace with retractable roof, which is set to be ready in March. The Moss Lane restaurant will be a firm favourite not only for foodies but for those wanting to meet friends for drinks on warm balmy evenings too. With a Spring launch for the outside terrace, customers won’t have too long to wait before they are whiling away the hours sipping on the impressive selection of Italian wines, beers, Prosecco and cocktails on offer.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, Tre Ciccio serves breakfast from 10 am and carries on service to lunch through to dinner. For local workers or those in a hurry, their pizza and chicken is also available for takeaway, firmly securing Tre Ciccio as an unrivalled food and drink destination for all eventualities. Francesco said, “We can’t wait to open our doors and let people experience what Tre Ciccio has to offer. This is an exciting time for us and we’re looking forward to seeing all our hard work come to fruition. We’re passionate about good food and we know the people of Altrincham will be just as passionate about us”.
